            Anna May Wong was the first Chinese-American actor in Hollywood. She was born in California and race up by her mother Wong Sam Sing and Sam Kee owners of Laundromat industry. Anna May woong started her career at a very young age since the film industry started in the west coast and she grew up in this environment. Despite of the hard time she experience at her beginning of her career, she moved to Europe and was very successful there acting in different movies, the Europe experience open her door to Hollywood making her well known among actors and producers. Anna May Wong died of a heart attack in California at the age of 56 before she play the role of Madame Liang in the film production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s flower Drum Song.
          In Toll of the Sea, Anna May Wong plays a role of a young, innocent Asian girl who falls in love with white American men to whom she marries and has a child with. The American men promises her to bring her to America, and she believed him despite of people negative comments about her relationship. This is a great example of how men is superior to men had the ability to dominate women in every sense possible putting Asian women as less. At the end of the movie, the Asian women gives up her child rights to her ex-husband and his new wife as a sacrifice in order to provide a better future for her child as she was now a single women to whom no one had respect anymore due to her relationship with a men from another nationality.
          Anna May Wong also was an actress  in “Lady from Chungking” in which she played a role of a powerful, beautiful and strong women defending her people and her culture from military men who are cruel and don’t care about the poor working class. Anna May Wong was able to let her people free and killed the general of the military given prove of her strong character but weak and brave at the same time as she dies at the end of the movie giving up her life in order to honor her culture, background and her race.
           “Discovering Anna May Wong” and “Pica deli” was also one her good performances in which her audience gets to know her a little more in deep and learn how to appreciate all her sacrifices and her art of acting. Anna May Wong was a living proved of how women are strong and focuses on their goals. Rest in Peace after of the hard and great work she done through her life.
